Let me introduce myself...
My name is Sascha Rodgers and I have been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 7 years now. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. I work with individual adults on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I also run group workshops.
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I have completed a four year postgraduate diploma in transpersonal integrative counselling and psychotherapy at the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education in London, W2. This training has incorporated the four main approaches in psychotherapy, namely psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and transpersonal.
Psychodynamic therapy is based on looking at and exploring childhood experiences and how these experiences may have affected us in the present. Humanistic therapy incorporates the person-centred approach where the client is given space to explore their issues and to move towards fulfilling their potential. Existential therapy explores the givens of existence such as isolation, freedom and responsibility, meaning and purpose and how we deal with these human givens and what they mean for us. Transpersonal therapy looks beyond the dimension of the ego to incorporate the spiritual dimension of life.
I work using all of these approaches and tailor the approach I use to meet the individual needs of the clients that I work with.
Where have I worked?
I have worked at the Awareness Centre in Clapham which is a centre specialising in counselling and psychotherapy. They offer NHS, low cost counselling and private counselling and psychotherapy. I worked with this organisation for two and a half years. I have also worked within the NHS as an IAPT counsellor for four and a half years within the IAPT service. (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies.) I currently work in a hospital setting and have previously worked in GP surgeries. I have also worked as a counsellor at an aftercare service for people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction for approximately two years.
I work with adult clients on both a short-term and long-term basis. I have worked with issues such as addiction, co-dependency, work-related issues and stress, depression and anxiety and relationship issues.
Prior to the commencement of my training as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked in the criminal justice system.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and abide by their Code of Ethics. I hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
I charge £55 per session (for 50-60 minutes) and can offer concessions.
